It got me thinking about the conversations I've had this week with other women and business owners. While I understand the history and primitive nature behind the holiday, I do find it funny that a rodent meteorologist forecasts our future and decides our fate for the following six weeks. Something we choose to believe.
Before I dismiss it, I ask myself: Is there a groundhog in my own life I let decide my fate?
If it sounds next to impossible that a groundhog can tell us if there will be six more weeks of winter, why do we let other people tell us how our own futures will play out?
The truth is, no one can tell us how our own successes will manifest. The only indicator of that is our own actions - the hard work we put in day after day to create the futures we're dreaming of. I am aware of the rodent meteorologist's predictions, but I choose not to let that dictate the future, much like I'm also not going to let anyone else either.
Do you have any groundhogs in your life? How much credit do you give what they have to say? Do you pay attention to them or do you create your own path forward?
