Last week, I had the honor of speaking at Career Day for junior high students about being an entrepreneur in social selling.
My biggest piece of advice was to have your own back and hold onto the vision… second to boundaries and respecting money I shared with them my story because I’ve been there - people thinking I was “crazy” for selling shampoo instead of going back to work in radiology, not knowing what I didn’t know, learning the importance of evaluating your actions and inactions, respecting money, being different as a good thing, etc.
When I got back home, with so much gratitude for the opportunity, I evaluated and thought to myself - what if I gave up all of those times it was easier to walk away than keep going?
I wouldn’t be where I am today - mentoring my team to evaluate their thoughts, having their own backs, seeing their uniqueness as a gift to build a sustainable at-home business … and amongst all of the really awesome things - how about speaking to and encouraging Junior High students at Career Day!?
I loved hearing them share their business dreams - from art work, macarons, making the world greener, restaurant, nails, clothing … and if any of you are reading this, I’m cheering for you!
